CAST Fundraiser (Short Version)

If you’re like me, and really the rest of the world, for that matter- You’re busy. There’s just not much time to spare between watching cat videos on YouTube, Netflix marathons, and perusing Facebook to keep up on the happenings of the world. So let’s get to the point. She promised we’re getting to the point. How “Business-Director” of her. But I’m here to paint the picture for you. And to make her point that much more… powerful. And I’m here to get them off the couch, and out into the great outdoors every now and then. -Pssh! We’ll get back to you later, camera-boy. Back to the content- No matter how busy we are, we spend endless hours interacting with- not people, technology! Whether surfing the web, scrolling through social media, emailing, texting… in fact, our jobs typically require us to. Okay- Cecilia, you’re being a little dramatic I mean, it’s only an average of 19 hours a day that people consume media- a day… you’re- No, you’re right- that’s excessive! 5.4 hours of that is spent on social media alone. And you know what else? Almost 30% of that media being consumed is user-generated content. To translate what they’re saying: Media has basically become the main source of our entertainment, news, learning, and even social life! So I mean, if we want to reach this generation with a message, and I mean any message at all- then we actually need to be where they are, and that’s online! And well, we do have a message we want to offer: We want to offer people Jesus Christ! And from what we’ve produced so far, we see that it’s something that they really thirst for! [CRICKETS] Oh, that’s my line! The first video to our new initiative, “Catholic Stories”- reached 78,000 views within the first week! Not mention the countless people who wrote in to us saying how this content has affected their lives for the better. As CAST, we’ve got a lot of projects underway. And they’re all meant to convey this message in a dynamic and engaging way. My job is to do that through video. And my job is to do that through words- and… pretty pictures. And my job is to make sure we have the means to keep on going. [CERAMIC SHATTERS] [LAUGHING] Especially when things break… In all seriousness, we’ve made it this far because of family, friends, and benefactors. But to keep going, we need your help. So just know when you donate, you’re actually helping us create content that counts. We’re actually giving the message of Christ to this plugged-in generation.
