Celebrity Charities & Their Social Impact


Hello fundraising family! Today we are talking about celebrities and the social impact they make. And today We’re going to break down some of the top celebrities there are foundations and some other people you could possibly work with. Check it out. Celebrities and their foundation help nonprofit causes all around the world. Nonprofits also use celebrities to build brand awareness and help raise extra fundraising dollars. From A list movie actors to Twitch streamers to YouTube stars, there’s a lot of celebrities out there that take their fame and fortune and put it forward to good use. So, today we’re going to talk about some of the impact that some of these stars may have had in your neighborhood. Trevor Noah- some of you may know Trevor Noah from being a comedian and some of you may know him from The Daily Show. Trevor Noah was born in South Africa and he still supports his roots through his own foundation called The Trevor Noah Foundation. His awesome foundation supports the initiatives to improve the lives of 3.7 million orphans and impoverished youth in South Africa. LeBron James aka the king aka the best aka bro man, James. Everybody knows LeBron James, he’s one of the best basketball players in the world. If not the best in history. Even Michael Jordan said that he could be the best. But a lot of people don’t know that he also made them the Lebron James Family Foundation. Which focuses on getting people GEDs and getting them food and actually getting them grants for schools and I really appreciate people that help education. Anyone that helps education deserves a thumb up in my book. So good job, bro man, James. Let’s not don’t call him that this probably not real. Pleas. Nobody calls him that. He’d be like who’s calling me this? Another awesome thing that we’ve discussed before is gaming for good. Specifically, there’s a couple different Organizations that help align gamers to people that are raising money for specific causes. One of those great organizations is Extra Life. Extra Life works to unite thousands of gamers to gaming marathons and fundraisers that help benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Yeah and another one which she just mentioned is Gaming For Good which was started by Bachir. We actually mentioned him in a previous video. Make sure you check that out Gaming For Good. But basically he does is he takes Twitch streamers and Twitch streamers also go through his website and they raise money for whatever foundations, they’re trying to raise money for. The biggest one they raised money for is Save The Children which obviously focuses towards children, their welfare, their well-being and their health all around the world. Now for YouTube stars. There are so many try to do some research. There’s millions of YouTube people. So try to find one on YouTube that aligns with what you’re looking for and reach out to them because a lot of them like to do stuff for charity and for their local people. The reality is today it’s very easy for celebrities to show off the charities that are most important to them and to motivate their fans to do the same. Yeah, and there’s thousands of that you can reach out to I mean, there’s people like Ellen DeGeneres, Rihanna, Hugh Jackman George Clooney and then like I said there’s millions of streamers and YouTube people that are trying to help out with their philanthropic giving. A lot of people that are out there that are opportunity for you to raise money for your charity and to give them the opportunity to help you. If you’re a nonprofit leader or you’re looking to support a school fundraiser, see how you can leverage celebrities to support and make your work viral. Because a lot of celebrities are supporting education like my man, bro, man James. Don’t please. Don’t call him that. But he supports education. Like I said, I really appreciate that. You should too.
