Crowded First-Quarter Field Leads To Lower Dem Fundraising | Morning Joe | MSNBC

  • Everyone of these people are LIARS. They are pandering to people. Saying stuff like, FREE healthcare, FREE College, Reparations, FREE money even if you don't want to work, Saying IMMIGRANTS instead of ILLEGALS,Β  LYING about 12 years til the End of Mankind (technically speaking). FREE anything is NOT Free. Especially Healthcare and College, that would cost 10-15 TRILLION per year, until everyone said, WHAT? Free college/ I'm going BACK to school, that would increase well above the 10-15 Trillion. I don't want to work, give me money. REALLY? You ancestors were slaves, here's what? $1…$1,000..$10,000, $1,00,000? Who pays? Only 6% of Americans then owned slaves, so who has to pay?Β  Concentrate on AMERICA and it's CITIZENS. Not Illegals or the rest of the world to make sure they are taken care of. WE, AMERICA, have POOR people, ABUSED Kids, Drug Problems, MURDERS. So when WE are 100%, THEN we will start helping others.

  • Bernie Sanders has out-raised every other candidate. Bernie is also leading in the polls by a huge margin. His rallies are drawing crowds of truly enormous size — something that we haven't seen since Obama was campaigning in 2008. Not that I would expect the corporate media to actually report these facts.

  • Hello Mika.πŸ‘‹.
    Exceptional reporting, Mika.πŸ‘β˜ΊπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.
    Keep on digging, Mika.πŸ‘.
    πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰Patience democrats, patience.πŸ‘.
πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰Proceed. Exceptional fundraising, democratic presidential candidates.πŸ‘β˜ΊπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.

  • I think most people realize that after Mueller's report Trump pretty much has re-election wrapped up. So there's not much reason to waste money on the Dems. Also, Obama and Hillary did not use the phrase "white supremacy", so they got donations from white folks. But now that the Dems are an openly racist, anti-white party, that source of money is gone. The best they can do is fight over the scraps from the poorest 20% of the pop.

  • I've said it before and I will say it again – Donnie is going to be re-elected. This Dem field is too weak. America, get ready for another 4 years of MAGA TV villain spectacular!

    MAGA!!! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

  • I agree with John. I don't think the amount each candidate has raised is a small amount. I also agree that most people are waiting to see how the field gets narrowed down.

  • They arent raising fewer total dollars, its just getting spread out more because there are too many announced candidates. Most of them arent serious candidates anyway, theyre just trying to build national name rec for future runs.

  • I think it's great that the Dems are inviting so many into the race. It helps us see what issues are most important to the people.

  • 15 shot, 3 fatally, in Chicago Monday – black holocaust continues in dem cities – PLEASE SAVE LIVES AND VOTE RED.

  • I get bugged that the dems are using money as a measure…we are supposed to be getting money OUT of politics

  • As a Canadian, while I have no vote in the next election, i'm captivated by the politics of our southern neighbour. That being said, i've been following fairly closely the campaign of Andrew Yang ( who's central political pillar is that of UBI. I'm still surprised that much of the mainstream media outlets barely feature him or his ideas. Case in point @5:10 when the graphic of the Democratic contenders show up…Andrew Yang is not even pictured there. I urge Americans to look at him and his campaign as well as his various podcast interviews. He offers many practical and clear proposals and is not afraid to talk to the "other side". He's spoken on Fox News, had an interview with Ben Shapiro, as well as with Joe Rogan. He's already made the Dem debate threshold and I hope the many more Americans see him and what such a person can do for the country. I wish we had someone as visionary and practical for our country.

  • Perhaps the Democrats should donate their money to issues in the New Green deal instead of campaigns, put it to some real use πŸ˜€

  • Give Mayor Pete a good look. Be nice to have the smartest and brightest leading us. I mean we usually have the best Astronauts leading missions …right? Maybe we ought to have the same high requirements for one of thee most important offices on the planet too eh?

  • How come politicians only report the $$$ but not the number of people who contributed them? That will give the nation a better feel for who is truly leading.

  • >Dat Bernie Bling
Where Tulsi at? She gon be VP. She's so badass: a 38 year old Major in the National Guard hot surfer chick with so much balls she make eearyone else look newturd.

  • Kamala Harris to win, place or show. She isn't a good person by any means. Just the one most connected and least stupid.

  • Hillary Clinton out raised more corporate money than Bernie Sanders and Trump combined in 2016. And Hillary still lost the electoral college map to the worst presidential candidate in history in trump.

  • Hmmmm several candidates dont want big money donors like big oil, big pharma, etc. Plus people need a change from the old establishment candidates ( Biden, Clinton etc)

  • As far as the eye can see….nothing but losers who's only reason to run is skimming campaign money and being able to claim "former presidential candidate" on the cover of their future book.

  • I maybe be mistaken here, but I don't recall this, the amount of money being raised in the 1st quarter, being a topic in the last elections, when we had all the Republicans running for office. And another point, this time you really do have to take in consideration, when you talk about how much Hillary and or Obama had at this point in their campaigns; that they were accepting corporate donations, Bernie Sanders doesn't.

  • i'm not concerned at all, think about this, in 2016 republicans raised record fundraising money in US history and it encouraged 19 runners to never drop out because they had so much money to throw away, and look what happened, too many stayed in for too long and trump was able to take them out easily as a result, this is donors learning from republicans and waiting out the losers to drop out quick, then once it comes down to just 5 runners, they'll start making their bids that stands out, but as long as dumb girls thinks they're smart enough to be presidents, not naming any names, no donor is going to take freshmen dems seriously right now, especially if their policy stances are to blow up the economy by breaking up the banks and throwing anti-trusts against google and amazon

  • Well if Bernie Sanders was just another corrupt politician, he would be sitting at around 25 million thanks to large corporate donors. But he’s not taking and corporate money or doing these expensive fundraising dinners. Of course MSNBC isn’t going to mention this.

  • Don't bet on a women. Don't bet on someone with the 'socialist' agenda. Don't bet on Biden..He's not interested in it really.. (I'll be back with more unasked for advice:)

  • Doesn't look like BERNIE raised significantly less according to your graphic. It also doesn't point out Hillary and Barack included large corporate donations. Bernie's corporate donations….0%. BERNIE 🌎 2o2o

  • Anthony Weiner just announced he's running for president. He chose Eric Holder for running mate.
    Weiner/Holder 2020

  • It's a GOOD thing they're raising less- it means that they (or most of them) are refusing super PAC donations. Not to mention, there's so many candidates- so the donations are dispersed. It's simple.

  • Everyone is overestimating the amount of money needed in an internet connected 21st Century world. The kicker will be the debates with Bernie spieling his 12 year old message, Biden spewing a professionally crafted set of answers, everyone else speaking in real time, and/or some combination of the above.

  • You can always count on MSNBC to push for more money in politics so more politicans can bought.
I wonder who Comcast is backing in the election this time.

  • I haven't donated to anyone yet because I'm waiting for the field to narrow a bit. I don't have a lot to give so I want it to go to someone who I think can go the distance. I really like most of the candidates and would give them money. The only serious candidate I don't like much is Bernie, but I'd vote for him if he were the nominee. I doubt I'd give him money though.

  • Corporate clowns complaining that Dems fundraising is so low… except they never mention Obama and Clinton got money from big donors… #FakeNews

  • These dems are fundraising for Clinton's campaign even before she announces. Some pretend to not even be aware of this fact.

  • The insanity and stupidity of the democratic field of candidates leads to lower Dem fundraising. fixed it for you.

  • Its funny how you actually think you are choosingπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. We all know the Dccc is going prop who they want up regardless who you vote or donate money. How quickly we forget 2016 when you have been brainwashed by hate propaganda

  • The Dems chances of winning in 2020 are as likely as attempting to stop a snowstorm in Antarctica in mid winter.
    It ain't gonna happen.

  • Our elections TAKE WAY TOO LONG because media starts salivating the day after the previous election! Wonder why fundraising totals are low? Our politicians never solve problems! NEVER! We all know most of them are running just to raise money and be more famous for the lecture circuit later. I'll take the most honest of them, the one who has walked the walk all of his career: Bernie.

  • There should be little to no campaign funding. We have PBS and NPR. Candidates should have equal time using both. No more attack ads or ads in general on commercial TV/radio. Fact checking mandated before they're able to publish to PBS and NPR. We need to stop enabling lies and deception that Trump has redefined to new levels.

  • They have the establishment talk fine tuned…..this election will make them look like fools again. Doi……

  • Individual parliamentary candidates in New Zealand are allowed to spend NZ$26,100 and parties can only spend NZ$2,964,100 collectively. Attack ads are illegal and there is some public financing of advertising spots.

  • I guess you people can eat platitudes and dreams. I am going with Yang and his numbers with his plan so I can get that bag!

  • Amazing that when you remove corporate donations, that donations go down!

    And corporate Democrats are shocked!

if only we could raise more money from the corporate benefactors who always donate more to the Republicans, just like Hillary did.

  • This blogger has become quite glad to see the popularity of the audio podcast take off, its tiresome to see politicians and journalists fake themselves up on televison, the females in trashy excessive make-up schemes, and the males phoneyed themselves up in over dye hair treatments, all to appear twenty-years younger, that only manage to take away from their message and journalism …as we televison viewers try, and have to chip away at all that inauthentic facial and hair crap…

  • the lower group need to drop out free up some of that money, specially if they don't make it on the debate stage! #CREEPY JOE STAY HOME! AWAY FROM FEMALES! #BERNIE2020

  • Andrew Yang??? Hmmm…..i give MSNBC/CNN another 5 -10 years. We may be fully reliant on news delivered online in the near future if this keeps up.

  • Morning Joe, love u show and u called out Moscow Mitch. Watching everyday. There is a bias again Andrew Yang? One of my favorite news network msnbc is not giving this man yang a fair shake. Hopefully, msnbc will give him a fair shoot. I don’t agree with Mr. Yang putting the whole country in welfare system but this is democracy. He deserve to have his idea n saying as a presidential candidate. like Fox News, msnbs you guys are dishonor your network. The more u point out Vice Pres. Biden. The more the trump supporter is going to look into Yang. Give the man a fair shake.

  • Want to hear more on Andrew Yang plan on privatizing gun grip …and would love to hear more about all his other ideas on how to move our country forward.
