Hallmark United Way Charity Event

Hallmark United Way Charity Event

To kick off the Holiday season, Hallmark hosted
a fundraising event to benefit the United Way in Franklin County. This unique collaborative event, in which
the students volunteer their time and photographic talent, is organized by the local community
hospital, Baystate Franklin Medical Center. Everyone is welcome, and for a small donation,
participants get a professional studio portrait, produced completely by the students. Hallmark’s portrait studios are set up to
accommodate a variety of situations. Family groups, couples, children and even pets. Many use this opportunity to create this year’s
Holiday greeting card. After the images are captured, folks head
over the school’s Digital Lab to take part in the editing process. There, the students offer their professional
opinions, to assist the guests in making their final portrait selections. The chosen images are sent over to Hallmark’s
Imaging Theater, where the students and staff create high-quality archival prints. The prints are professionally finished, sorted
and sent out within a week. All the supplies are donated by the school. In addition to raising money for a worthwhile
cause, our students learn, first hand, the value of donating their time, and talent,
to give back to the community. The Holidays are a time for giving, and have
a way of bringing families and friends together. This charity event accomplished both, and
helped everyone get into the Holiday spirit.
