My name is Jessica Albright. I’m the manager of development operations operations at Holden Forests and Gardens. Holden Forests & Gardens includes the 3,500-acre Holden Arboretum located in Lake County and the 14-acre Cleveland Botanical Garden, located in Wade Oval, Cleveland’s cultural district. We serve our community through our world-class research, conservation efforts and community forestry programs. We decided to go with Altru, which has really helped our inter-campus communications and sharing of information. Since Altru is a comprehensive system, it brings together multiple departments – fundraising, membership and ticketing, for example – into one place, which means we can really get a full-picture view of our patrons and see where they’re really engaged in our institution. Altru has really helped advance my work by giving me the ability to streamline solutions and processes at an institutional scale, and it has also really helped me to collaborate with my colleagues in different departments on shared projects. With Altru, we have seen an increase in some of our online sales orders, which includes an 80 percent increase in advanced event registrations and a 13 percent increase in advanced ticket sales. We have also seen an increase in the use of our membership promotions by 8 percent and our ability to also track those promotions, and then, finally, we have seen a decrease in our administrative time due to AddressFinder and DeceasedRecordFinder, which has updated hundreds of thousands of records for us in providing better constituent information for our communications. Right now we are working with Blackbaud’s Target Analytics to analyze our entire database. In the future, this should help us boost our fundraising efforts by understanding who our patrons are.
