The ICC has passed new rules for the World Cup’s matches. All the teams will be given a kit that includes a jersey, helmet, gloves etc. They will also be given an ‘Away Kit’ which will be in a different colour. they will be given two kits. ALl the teams will be given two kits. Yesterday at the India vs England match, India wore a different coloured jersey. Why was this? Well the colour of India and England’s jersey is very similar. In order to avoid confusion, they had to change their jersey. Then why did England wear their original jersey? Since England was the Home team they could wear their jersey and India had to change theirs. After much discussion, they decided on the color orange for the jerseys. They wore blue and orange jersey for the match. The BCCI teamed up with Nike to make these jerseys. This is only for one time and will not be worn again. Similarly there are countries as well who had to wear two different jerseys. In order to avoid a clash of colours countries such as Afghanistan, South Africa and Bangladesh had to change their jerseys. After they wore their jerseys, they were sold in an auction to the highest bidder. All the money will be collected and the ICC will gave it to the NGO called One Day 4 Children charity run by UNICEF. Many politicians have said that the colour orange was selected to show support to the BJP. People said that they were trying to politicise cricket by making players wear orange jerseys. However the BCCI said that this was not the case. They selected the colour simply because they liked it. Many are not at all happy with the orange and blue color of the jerseys. They have compared it to the uniform of the India Oil. It has gone viral all over social media.
